Intended Use The DS5 instrument and associated reagent kit is intended for the in vitro measurement of HbA1c in blood samples. The system's small size and ease of use make it ideal for main laboratory, clinic or satellite laboratory settings. Scientific principle The DS5 uses cation exchange chromatography in conjunction with gradient elution to separate human haemoglobin subtypes and variants from haemolyzed whole blood. The separated haemoglobin fractions are monitored by means of absorption of light and the chromatogram obtained is recorded and stored by the internal computer. A software program performs the analysis of the chromatogram and generates a results report on the integral thermal printer. Performance Data |
